Ah well. Another missed profit opportunity. It goes with the territory. I put it behind me and turned my attention to studying an obscure signal I was studying for a forthcoming technical book on trading. It was whilst I was experimenting with this totally different and obscure area of trading that I noticed something amazing.

This obscure signal was shouting out a sharp rise in the SAME market I’d just missed making serious money from!

And (this made my spine tingle) it had ‘flagged’ the rise BEFORE it actually happened.

Could it be...? Nah, surely not... I’m experienced enough to know that one ‘correct’ signal means little. It could be just a coincidence.

But still...

I decided to study a number of previous market moves.

The ‘secret signal’ had correctly anticipated the market move (rises AND falls) in 16 out of the 21 moves I checked. And it had done this in plenty of time for me to put my position on.

What’s more, it made perfect sense now that I could see it. What I mean is this: the ‘secret signal’ is strongly related to the market being traded. It’s not something absurd like the phase of the moon. But I’d just never thought of looking in his obscure corner before.

I’d love to claim full credit for this, but truth to tell it was GOOD FORTUNE that I happened to be writing a book at the same time as spotting the connection between a major market move and this secret signal. It suddenly dawned on me ...

Well you know what happens next. I had to put my money where my mouth was and back my ideas.

So here’s what I did...

A fluke? I thought. So I did it again and again and again with the same astonishing results. And yes, I lost a couple of trades too (no system is completely perfect). But the point is I made FAR more than I lost, and the losses were tiny anyway.

I pinched myself that something so simple could bring such big returns for so little effort. So over the next six months I test drove this to exhaustion and added a little bit of fine tuning to make it into a reliable system.
